THEORIES & SPECULATIONS SECTION ETIQUETTE
- PUBLISH ORIGINAL CONTENT
Theories & Speculation section is a platform for content creators to share their original theories and speculations, content you publish must be your own work, appropriate credits must be given if certain parts of your published content are inspired by others content. Ideas and elements do not belong to any one person, but how you present such ideas and elements do. Be original, be creative and publish content that would be enjoyed by the readers.
- ORGANIZATION, TAGGING AND FORMATTING
Categorize your theory or speculation appropriately, based on what the main matter of the theory or speculation is. For example, if your theory is “Monkey D. Dragon Was Previously A Marine” it would belong in the Marines category as that is the main matter of the theory, even though Dragon is a Revolutionary. Use tags that describe your content and will make it easier for readers to find your content. Format your content in a decent manner, highlight headings with font sizes and colors, aim at making your content easy and enjoyable to read.
- REVIEWING, RATINGS & CRITICISM
Ratings provide readers an option to filter content and reach quality content faster, readers must rate and review a theory or speculation in an unbiased, constructive manner. Take into account all points that the author has placed into his or her content and read the content properly before rating. Authors should take reviews, ratings & criticism in a sporting manner, understand the reviewers perspective and respond in a mature manner. Readers must try to keep their reviews & ratings as precise as possible, for in-depth discussion use the “discussion” tab and converse in-depth with the author and other members.
- CONTENT ICONS & TITLES
We allow authors to add custom icons to their content, these icons must be 96 x 96 pixels in dimension. Authors should use the most suitable image as their icon which successfully displays their theory or speculations idea and motive. Content title helps the reader understand what he or she would be reading, be as precise as you can in your titles and avoid using abbreviations in titles.
- PLAGIARISM IS PROHIBITED
Claiming someone else’s work as yours is strictly prohibited and will lead to action being taken against your account. Do not copy-paste theories and speculations from other websites and communities even with the intention to share, only publish original content. Do not fail to credit others if parts of your published content are inspired by others creations. Everyone who creates content dedicates a substantial amount of time and love, respect that.
- MISUSING TAGS, IMPROPER FORMATTING & CATEGORIZATION
Do not place your theory or speculation in the wrong category intentionally, categorization helps readers find specific content and helps your content reach out to more readers. Do not tag your content with irrelevant tags in order to confuse readers into reading your content. Do not make it hard for readers to read your content by using excessive formatting options, avoid bolding all of your text and avoid long paragraphs that have no line breaks. Do not confuse readers by adding unnecessary material to the content body, stick to the point and avoid going off-topic within your content.
- MISUSE AND ABUSE OF RATINGS
Do not rate content negatively just because of your personal bias against the author, and do not rate content positively just because the author is close to you. Biased ratings will only pollute content and hamper our efforts to provide more quality content to readers. Authors must not respond in an aggressive manner to negative ratings and should not attack other members who criticize their work. Do not use the ratings & reviews to start an in-depth and long discussion, misuse or abuse of the rating system will lead to action being taken against your account. Do not be aggressive or criticize just for the sake of criticizing, be constructive.
- INAPPROPRIATE CONTENT ICONS & TITLES
Do not misuse the content icon to add an icon that is irrelevant to your content, adding icons or titles with the primary intention of having the reader click your theory (“click bait”) is strictly prohibited. Do not use abbreviations in your titles, avoid using phrases such as “CONFIRMED!” “REVEALED!” “SPOILERS!” in your titles as this would be considered “click bait”.
ACCEPTABLE CONTENT POLICY
The Theories & Speculation platform is for content creators to share their work with the fanbase, content that is posted on this section is based on canon material from the series and content creators take time to inspect elements from the series to theorize or speculate various aspects of the series. Content that lacks depth, length or explanation should not be posted on this platform and can rather be posted in one of the One Piece discussion forums. Examples of content that should not be posted on the platform includes but is not limited to:a) Content that lacks explanation of any sort, where the author does not provide reasoning behind their theory or speculation which ends up confusing the reader.
b) Content that isn’t theorizing or speculating aspects of the series, but rather geared towards discussion of a certain aspect.
If you believe any published content on the platform is not in accordance with our acceptable content policy, please help us by reporting such content so that we can review it.
ACCEPTABLE PUBLISHING POLICY
The platform prioritizes a good reading experience for consumers of theories/speculations and we request all content creators to format their content in a manner that enhances the reading experience. We provide a guide that lists the best practices for publishing content on the platform. This does not mean we want you to make your content look pretty, however we do not want walls of text without any line breaks or paragraphs. If your content doesn’t provide a good reading experience, the chances of members reading it and discussing/rating your theory reduces. In cases where the published content does not provide a good reading experience, we may edit the content to provide a better reading experience. We may also reach out to the author with suggestions on how they can improve the reading experience of content they publish.
Publishing content that contains no text is not acceptable. We have a field where you can enter a link to your YouTube video for the theory/speculation that you are publishing, please provide a full textual version of your theory/speculation even if a video exists.
